Bike show's future, buyer show or dealer show

I'm always thinking of our show's future. Currently, the show is the biggest bike show in the world even bigger than Eurobike and Interbike. Yet, China is still the biggest bicycle production base. That makes our show a real buyer show not a dealer show like Eurobike and Interbike. The main exhibitors are from China and they are various bike makers. The main visitors are from all over the world and they are also bike manufactures. They need to source bike and parts from China or find their OEM partner. So, our show is really good for someone who wants to source Chinese bikes or parts.

In recent years, the local marekt for high-end bikes is growing. The international part of our show, althoug not big, consist of major bike brand. And these guys want to see dealers in China. So, we will particular attract those dealers to the show. Now, in major city of China have bike dealers or IBD stores which sells only expensive bikes. Besides the shop, they have their clubs, an online store, a BBS, and they often organize various bike activities as trials, races and so on.

So, I guess, the future of our show will be the combination of both buyer and dealer show. In the near future, the situation for China as the biggest and important bike production base will not change. But the local market is growing very fast. Shanghai is the international city with fashions for young people. Bike will their favorate leisure. And the dealer system is growing fast with the market.

In 2008, we are thinking of different ways to promote the international brand. The following might be some of those news strategies.
1. Reduce your cost. We want to reduce the cost to be in the same level of European shows.
2. To attract more local dealers and cyclists.
3. Demo day. We are thinking of the possibility to have an demo day in the outskirt of Shanghai for test riding, sturt show and other outdoor bike trial for dealers and fans only.
4. Indoor bike fashion show to attract more accssories maker as bike jersy, glass, gloves, shoes, and etc.
